Westlake Pool & Kitchen

West Lake Hills, TX · Lake-view orientation · ~16-week build
Projects·Project 06

A West Lake Hills homeowner wanted everything centered on the view — not the house. We oriented a custom gunite pool so the long axis frames the lake view rather than running parallel to the back wall, then positioned the outdoor kitchen on the far side of the deck so cooks face the view, not the architecture.

Pool spec: gunite shell, plaster finish, sheer-descent water feature on the back wall, automatic pool cover stored in the coping channel. The deck is silver travertine on a compacted base — chosen because it sheds Texas heat in a way concrete and dark pavers never will. You can stand on it barefoot at 4pm in July.

The kitchen island ties into the existing limestone architecture with matching cut limestone veneer. Built-in grill, leathered counter, side burner, undercounter fridge — all on a foundation engineered to handle the slope back toward the lake. We added integrated low-voltage LED downlights along the cooking surface and the steps down to the pool deck.
